FOOTBALL
********
CHELSEA TO LEAVE IT LATE AGAIN AT 11/8
Last week we flagged up the fact that Chelsea have been winning their games
late on, after grinding down their opposition in the second half. This
resulted in a nice 3/1 pay-out on the Draw / Chelsea double result in their
match against Charlton, and similar betting tactics can pay off again this
week in their match against Aston Villa.

Villa (12/1) are unlikely to upset Chelsea, but they’ve done enough in
their previous two away matches this season to suggest that they can keep
the score line respectable. And, since Chelsea have yet to concede in the
Premiership (and Villa have failed to score in their last three visits to
the Bridge), we can also be confident about backing them to win to nil at
11/8 (another winning bet last week at 6/4). The game is not live on TV
but, as we bet all Premiership matches ‘In-Play’, we’re also giving you the
option to get stuck into the Blues before the start of the second half,
when they’re likely to be a better price than the current 2/9.

WHO WILL SCORE FIRST AGAINST CHELSEA?
With six games, eighteen points, and a big fat zero in the goals against
column, the Premiership title race already looks over (currently 2/7
Chelsea). And, with the Chelsea clean sheet run likely to go on for at
least another week, we’re betting on which side will score first against
them in the Premiership this season. Saturday’s potential ‘lambs to the
slaughter’, Aston Villa, are 6/4 to breach the watertight defence first,
with a goal-shy Liverpool (October 2nd) next best at 7/4. With matches
against Bolton (13/2), Everton (9/1), and Blackburn (28/1) also on the
horizon, it’s difficult to find a winner in this ‘market’. In fact, we
might have to wait until Man United (16/1) on November 6th to get paid
out!

START YOUR ACCA AT THE BRIDGE
Chelsea may be on the skinny side this weekend, but they can still get our
Premiership accas off to a great start. Betting purists will say that you
shouldn’t be placing multiple bets, but this is one way of getting rich
cheaply, and there’s nothing wrong with a speculative wager on a Saturday
afternoon – plus you’re assured of getting some extra value with our
Premiership Accumulator Bonus! This weekend, Chelsea are home bankers, but
the remaining selections are all fancied to win on their travels. Charlton
(6/4) have been phenomenal on the road this season (three out of three),
and they look set for another nice away day against the Baggies. Wigan have
adjusted to life in the top flight rather well, and are a touch of value at
3/1 to beat a struggling Everton, while Liverpool (11/10) can get the
better of Birmingham in Saturdays’ live lunchtime encounter (ko 12.45). A
£25 acca on all four selections this weekend pays out £673.75 - that
includes a bet365 bonus of 5% (up to 60% on offer every weekend in the
Premiership).

Weekend Premiership Picks:

Draw / Chelsea @ 7/2; Chelsea to win to nil @ 11/8
Charlton to beat West Brom @ 6/4
Wigan to beat Everton @ 3/1
Liverpool to beat Birmingham @ 11/10
4-fold on Chelsea (2/9), Charlton (6/4), Wigan (3/1) and Liverpool
(11/10)

HORSE RACING
************
LIKE FATHER LIKE SON – DUBAWI 7/4 FOR QEII STAKES GLORY
There’s no doubt that Dubawi has the class to win the Queen Elizabeth
Stakes (4.20), and he’s our 7/4 market leader to emulate his sire Dubai
Millennium with victory in Britain’s most prestigious mile race. Original
fears that the ground was going to be fast have been allayed by recent
rain, but connections would still like to see even more before race day.
There was plenty of give underfoot when the Godolphin horse won the Irish
Guineas and last time out in France, but he was all at sea on a firm
surface in the 2000 Guineas back in May.

That said, it could be worth taking a chance on Starcraft at 9/4. The
Aussie import was top-class Down Under, and finally showed the Europeans
what he was capable of when making all to rout his rivals in the Group 1
Prix du Moulin at Longchamp at the beginning of September. Similar tactics
are likely to be employed on Saturday, and he’s fancied to pull clear of
his rivals once he meets the rising ground at Newmarket.

Rakti 9/4, Mullins Bay, Chic 10/1, others on bet365 website

LET’S GO NATIVE – CORAL’S THE ONE TO BE ON
There’s a cracking jumps card for the time of year at Market Rasen on
Saturday, which (providing the ground is suitable) could feature the
reappearance of 2004 Stayers Hurdle winner Iris’s Gift in the novice chase
(2.45), The Jonjo O’Neil eight-year-old is expected to make up into a
top-class staying chaser this season, and has already been well-backed for
the Gold Cup (now 20/1). A word of warning, however, he’s almost certainly
going to need the race on his first run since March, in which case the
Nicky Richards-trained Native Coral looks the one to be on. Trainer Peter
Bowen has a great record at the track, and his Football Crazy can follow up
last year’s win in the opening handicap hurdle (2.10).

CASH IN WITH OUR CHANNEL 4 OFFER
Channel 4 cameras will be showing four races from the meeting at Market
Rasen (as well as three from Haydock), which is great news if you can find
the winner of any of the televised races here at bet365. Back a winner at
4/1, or bigger, and we’ll give you a free bet (up to £50) on the next live
Channel 4 race.

INTERNATIONALS VALUE AT 11/8 FOR PRESIDENTS CUP
Th Sep 22 - 17.00 (SS1)
Fr Sep 23 - 17.00 BST (SS1)
Sa Sep 24 - 17.00 BST (SS2)
Su Sep 25 - 17.00 BST (SS2)
The United States are as short as 4/7 to win this week’s Presidents Cup on
home soil, but there are a number of question marks hanging over Team USA.
World No.1, Tiger Woods (3/1 to top-score for the States), has not played
competitive golf since finishing 40th in the Deutsche Bank Championship,
while Phil Mickelson, who finished down the field in the 84 Lumber Classic,
is not renowned for his team golf. To add to captain Jack Nicklaus’
concerns, star player David Toms was hospitalized with heart problems
during the first round last week. On the rankings, the US are the better
side but, at the odds, the bet’s going on the Internationals at 11/8.

HOME FROM HOME - BACK J J FOR TEXAS OPEN AT 66/1
Several of the players at the front of the betting for this week’s Texas
Open look opposable due to being out of form – 20/1 favourite Chad Campbell
has posted only one top-ten since April – so it’s time to get stuck into
some genuine each way shots at bigger prices. And, as Texans (and Texas
residents) do particularly well in this event (last year’s winner Bart
Bryant was the 16th Texan to win his home event), we’ll pin our hopes this
week on a trio of natives

J J Henry reached a landmark birthday (30) in April, which is often an
incentive for a player to up his game, and he’s since put in some decent
finishes (4th in the Reno-Tahoe). He’s still looking to break his Tour duck
but, with two top-5’s in four years on this track, this could be the week
he does it. He rates a cracking each way bet at 66/1, along with
Texas-born-and-bred, Hunter Mahan (80/1), who also looks to have the
measure of the course (Tied 17th 2003, 5th 2004).

Finally, Harrison Frazar looks too good to miss at a juicy 80/1. He’s yet
to fire in this event, but produced one of his better performances of the
season last time out in the Lumber Classic, finishing with a 64 to grab
17th place. As he’s currently 135th in the money list, he could do with a
few dollars this week to ensure his automatic playing rights for next
season (only the top-125 at the end of the season qualify). That should be
the incentive he needs to at least get into our five places this week. Of
course, once the event tees off, we’ll have live in-play betting right up
to the final putt on Sunday night.

Texas Open Three Off The Tee- J J Henry @ 66/1; Hunter Mahan @ 80/1;
Harrison Frazar @ 80/1 (Each-way ¼ odds 1.2.3.4.5.)
